Artist biography:
Paolo Bordignon is harpsichordist of the New York Philharmonic and appears this season with Camerata Pacifica, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra among others. He has recently performed with the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, MET Orchestra Musicians, Mark Morris Dance Company, All-Star Orchestra, ECCO, the Knights, and in concerti with The Philadelphia Orchestra and the American Symphony Orchestra.
He has also appeared in solo performance for New York Fashion Week, and on NBC, CBS, PBS, CNN, NPR (including Pipedreams and Performance Today), the CBC, and on Korean and Japanese national television. For the inauguration of Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall, he gave the east coast première of Philip Glass’s Concerto for Harpsichord and Orchestra.
Festival performances include Aspen, Bard, Bay Chamber, Bridgehampton, Jackson Hole, Palm Beach, Parlance, Salt Bay, and Vail. He has appeared on NBC, CBS, CNN, NPR, PBS Great Performances, and the CBC.
He is Organist and Choirmaster of St. Bartholomew’s Church, Park Avenue, and has performed organ recitals at venues such as St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue (New York) and St. Eustache (Paris). He has been a frequent recitalist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, including a 10-recital residency.
Born in Toronto, Paolo attended St. Michael’s Cathedral Choir School before studying at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. He is an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music, a Fellow of the Royal Canadian College of Organists, and he earned Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the Juilliard School.
