In this standout recital program rising opera star Tivoli Treloar will perform works in Spanish, German, French, and English by composers including Korngold, Obradors, Poulenc, and Kurt Weill.  The theme of this masterfully crafted program is pieces composed between the two world wars.   In a review of her performance in her first professional starring role in The Romance of the Rose, The Los Angeles Times wrote “At her most magnificent, Treloar embodied illumination that ran through the voice and body, as though she were conducting the universe.”

Artist Biography

Mezzo-soprano Tivoli Treloar is pursuing her Master of Music in Vocal Arts at The Juilliard School where she is a proud recipient of the Kovner Fellowship. This past season, with Juilliard Opera, Treloar sang the title role in Erismena and covered Sesto in La clemenza di Tito. As a Studio Artist at Wolf Trap Opera, Treloar covered Dorabella in Così fan tutte and sang Madeleine in Silent Night. In 2023, Treloar made her professional debut with Long Beach Opera singing The Lover in the acclaimed premiere of Kate Soper’s The Romance of the Rose directed by James Darrah and conducted by Christopher Rountree. Treloar is from Los Angeles, California where she graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Music from UCLA. There, she performed Galatea in Acis and Galatea, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, and Athena in the premiere of Kay Rhie’s Quake. For the past two summers, Treloar has been a Lehrer Vocal Institute Fellow at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California. Treloar is also an accomplished dancer and choreographer, having performed roles including Rosebud and Arabian Princess in Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, and Firebird in scenes from Stravinsky’s The Firebird with Orange County Ballet Theater. She studied ballet and contemporary at Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy and has attended summer intensives with the Bolshoi Ballet Academy and the Radio City Rockettes.
