EMPTY BOWLS, NOVEMBER 11, 2022
SPONSORED BY COMMUNITY CLAYWORKS
AT ST. MARK'S-IN-THE-VALLEY
BENEFITTING BETHANIA FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Empty Bowls Event for family & friends
The bowl you take home is worth more than the donation to support Bethania's food distribution
300 spectacular bowls handmade by talented Central Coast artists await you at the Empty Bowl fundraiser on the evening of November 11. Two seatings, one at 5 p.m. and the other at 6:30 p.m., offer guests time to enjoy a delicious bowl of soup at St. Mark's-in-the-Valley in Los Olivos while helping feed the community.
This event benefits the food distribution program run by Bethania Lutheran Church in Solvang. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the program itself. 95% of the people who receive help from this program are Santa Ynez Valley residents.
Veronica Medina, owner of Community Clayworks, is organizing the event along with the SYV Community Kitchen and area chefs, organized by Chef Budi Kazali.
Medina said, "Food insecurity is an issue throughout our country, and our local community is not immune. I hope that by sharing in a simple meal, we can continue to raise awareness and aid in ultimately addressing the systemic root causes of food insecurity."
Each attendee is invited to pick a unique, hand-made bowl and enjoy a simple dinner of soup and bread. Beer and wine will be available. Local restaurants will provide soup for the event, including Coast Range, Pico, Clean Slate, New West Catering, Campo del Sol, and Ramen Katori.
Tickets are available for 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and are $30. Purchase tickets or donate at smitv.ejoinme.org/SYVEmptyBowls2022Reservations.
