Completing deferred maintenance
Firestone Hall update in process
The interior of Firestone Hall is being updated and refreshed for the first time in its 30-year life of service. The Common Room (formerly known as the Parlor) is being refurnished to better serve the meetings and classes that are held there daily (often multiple times per day). Old lighting fixtures are being updated to efficient LED units, the entire interior is being painted and fraying carpet is being replaced. This work is being funded by capital maintenance funds gathered from endowment earnings that are restricted for this purpose. The project is part of the larger work of completing years of deferred maintenance on our campus. The church work was the most complex and costly (requiring additional donations) and was the first to be completed. Work on Firestone Hall and Stacy Hall is in process or scheduled. Roofs on both buildings are overdue for replacement and the interior of Stacy Hall is also needing refurbishment. Both buildings are also due for exterior paint.
