A special request from St. Mark's-in-the-Valley
St. Mark's gifted and dedicated Vestry and Finance Committee members report:

• Our Preschool is self-sustaining through Tuitions and Fundraising.
• Our Community Service Programs are self-sustaining through our summer event.
• Our Capital Maintenance is self-sustaining through our Endowment and special gifts.
• Our Church Programs and Operating expenses, which are sustained by your Annual Giving, are currently falling short.

Through special giving by our members and friends, now and at the end of the year, we can complete 2017 “in the black,” as we typically do.
Your donations are making a lot of wonderful things happen. 

• St. Mark’s is a vibrant, growing congregation, bucking national trends. 
• Our programming for children and youth is expanding.
• Our music programs are continuing to build on a legacy of excellence.
• St. Mark’s is a lively crossroads for many individuals, families, and groups in our region gathering for meetings, concerts, and events.

In all of these things and more, with your participation, St. Mark’s is in a flow of light and life-giving Sacred energy. Thank God!
We set ambitious goals to accomplish. Many people work tirelessly “hands on,” giving time, effort, and expertise. Our budget is always carefully crafted and we rise to the challenge of meeting it. This year, our budget is $664,500 and our Treasurer and Finance Committee are signaling that we may see as much as a $38,000 shortfall without special gifts.
While this special request is unusual, we can come together to meet our goal as we come together to make a difference day in and day out, year by year. Please don’t be concerned whether your gift is large or small, if each person does what they can, we will surely have the needed funds. (Yes, faith matters!)​
